RECENT NEWS: Thai National Parks - Closed for divers!

Hi All,

It's been reported in the news lately that many of Thailands National Parks will be closed to divers due to the coral bleaching that occured last year because of unusually high water temperature.

This is the case for approximately 16 National Parks in Thailand but Koh Phi Phi is pretty much open for business as usual. The Hin Klang reef has been closed to divers and is the only site within the National Park that has. This is because this reef sits at a shallow depth and saw a reasonable amount of damage last year(although it is recovering well).

Due to the depth of this dive site it was effected by the warming temperature of the Andaman Sea, and therefore to allow the reef time to rest and rejuvenate we will not be diving this site.

All other sites in the National Park are doing well and are open as usual. These sites did see some effect from the rise in temperature but already they're showing signs of recovery in the shallow areas where they were most effected.

We still see our friendly marine locals daily, such as Hawksbill Turtles, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Kuhls Stingrays and a whole host of other beauties!..

So don't fear Phi Phi is still one of the top diving destinations in the world!.. :)
